由南方科技大学地球与空间科学系杨迪琨老师邀请,Alex Furman在理学院关于“土壤金属纳米颗粒的频谱激电法监测”学术讲座: Abstract Breakthrough curves (BTCs) are valuable for qualitative and quantitative examination of transport patterns in porous media. Although breakthrough (BT) experiments are simple, they often require extensive sampling and multi-component chemical analysis. In simple cases, breakthrough experiments can rely on the outflow solution's electrical conductivity (EC), but mostly, they require multi-component chemical analysis. In all cases, the analysis of soil properties and the reactive transport is conducted using outflow measurements. This work examines spectral-induced polarization (SIP) signals measured along a soil column during BT experiments in homogenous and heterogeneous soil profiles. The advantage of such analysis is that it does not require chemical analysis and, at the same time, provides insight into the processes before the solution appears at the outflow. We present several different experiments in which sIP is used to analyze simple ion exchange processes, metallic nanoparticles transport, and organic contaminants' transport through activated carbon.
