《My little Dear in the Garden》
Deep in my woods,
where tall trees sway,
My little dear
comes out to play.
Beside the swing set,
beneath the trees,
She nibbles my plants
with cautious tease.
A leaf here,
a branch there,
Little green crumbs
float through the air.
She pauses,
listening to the breeze,
Then takes another bite
with such ease.
The swing hangs quiet,
the woodland sings,
Sunlight dances
on your tiny wings.
And there you stay,
so sweet and dear,
My little visitor,
year after year.
Oh, little dear,
my garden guest,
You always know
where the greens are best.
Though you may eat
what I hoped would grow,
I can’t be cross—
you’re too sweet to go.
So nibble away
my woodland treat,
With gentle eyes
and tiny feet.
Among the trees,
beneath skies so clear,
You’ll always be welcome,
my little dear.
