PLACENTA – MOVIE 3: 2D going through: w40 placenta optical layers; vessels and cytotrophoblast layer.
The placenta is a large organ in the woman’s uterus during pregnancy, which provides oxygen and nutrients to the embryo/foetus and removes waste products from the baby’s blood. These videos reveal some details about the fine structure of human placenta in three-dimension, using the cytotrophoblast marker PEG10 as well as the immunomarker CD34, which depicts the blood vessels inside the organ.
METHOD: iDISCO+ volume immunostaining and clearing
TISSUE: Human placenta, w40, normal delivery time, at the end of pregnancy.
