Over reading week (when I'm supposed to be studying for exams), I wanted to not study and arrange something. I could have gone with some obscure wack song and had a fun time, but then I realized Uma Musume (the game)'s first anniversary had arrived and I wanted to give a nod to that. The next difficult step was to choose what song to arrange. Thinking that I couldn't just pull out some random winning live song, I decided to go with one of the main OPs, which left me with Make Debut! (S1 OP), Yume wo Kakeru (S2 OP), GIRLS LEGEND U (Game OP), and Umapyoi (we all know why). Umapyoi was quickly ruled out, and eventually I just settled on the OP1 pick.
Looking back at my arrangements in the past, I noticed there were very few "standard" j-pop songs (although to be fair, I didn't really do that many arrangements in the past year anyways). The last time I arranged something similar was Gotoubun no Katachi, which was 14 months ago (I think). And you can clearly tell that I've grown all old and rusty on these standard songs because it's either bland, or I revert back to my old habits (*cough* the bridge).
This arrangement will be at least a week old by the time it uploads, since I didn't want to release it too early after my previous video (to give me time to do my next arrangement). But I also didn't want to wait too long since there's only so long that Uma Musume's 1st Anniversary will be going on, so here it is!
I hope you enjoy a more standard arrangement of a more standard song!
