This accelerometer came out of a Yaw rate sensor from inside of a Subaru vehicle.
The accelerometer is made by BOSCH, and has a part number of SMB225. According to the datasheet, it is a dual-axis accelerometer, which is why there are two sensing elements arranged at 90 degrees from each other. This part can operate in two modes, either 16-bit sampling for a sensing range of +/- 4.9 g, or 8-bit sampling for +/- 35 g.
