原视频简介：MSN Messenger used to be the way people talked online in the 2000s… but it's long gone since 2013.
Today I tried to bring it back to life.
In this video, I set up Windows Live Messenger 2009 on a Windows 7 Sony all-in-one PC and connect it to a modern workaround service called Escargot so it can actually go online again in 2026.
But that’s only part of the story.
Alongside it, I also unboxed and restored a forgotten piece of Messenger history: the i-Buddy, a USB desktop companion that was designed to react to messages, nudges, and emojis back in the MSN era.
What starts off as a simple nostalgia setup quickly turns into hours of troubleshooting drivers, compatibility issues, dead software and sketchy downloads… how will it turn out?
