    1.choose

They will be able to choose their own leaders in democratic elections.

The local shops have been marked in on this map so that people can choose a house in a suitable area.

    2.pick

Mr. Nowell had picked ten people to interview for six sales jobs in Dallas.

If your proposed syntax picks one of them then you need to give me a syntax to pick the others.

    3.select

Voters are selecting candidates for both U.S. Senate seats and for 52 congressional seats.

But within one data set you can view it in a number of different formats and select from a range of different variables.

选择

    4.elect

The people of the Philippines have voted to elect a new president.

In many cases we need also to take account of the responsibility of patients for their own health, and voters for the governments they elect.

    5.prefer

I became a teacher because I preferred books and people to politics.

She chose Spain, but personally I'd prefer to go to France.

    6.opt

After graduating she opted for a career in music.

Employees may opt out of the company's pension plan.

    7.single

He was singled out to succeed his uncle.

He was singled out as the outstanding performer of the games.
