# 如何在英语中表达因果关系
## 连词(因为)
#### because
1. 引导原因状语从句
一般不用于句首。
eg. I can't eat this *because* it's rotten.
2. 引导名词性从句
eg. { Just *because* you won } does not mean you will ...
eg. That's *because* they don't study hard.
- 回答问题可以省略主句,直接以 because 开头。
#### since, as
eg. We decide to depart *since* it was a nice day.
eg. I thought Keven was out *as* his car wasn't there.
#### for
一般不用于句首。
eg. He fount it increasingly difficult to read, *for* his eyesight was beginning to fail.
## 介词短语(因为)(后接名词)
#### because of
#### due to, owing to, as a result of
比 because of 更正式一些。
#### through
尤其用于说明某人成功或失败的原因
eg. They won the game, more *though* luck than skill.
eg. You failed the test *through* carelessness.
#### thanks to
表示“归功于,多亏”,用于解释好事的发生是由于某人的努力或某事物。
eg. *Thanks to* modern medicine, this disease can be cured.
#### out of
表示“出于”,后接人的态度、想法、考虑。
eg. He started reading the book *out of* curiosity.
eg. I only asked him *out of* politeness.
#### on account of
表示“由于某个问题/困难”,后接问题/困难。
eg. She was told to rest more *on account of* her back <u>problem</u>.
eg. Many obese children are bullied at school *on account of* their <u>weight</u>.
## 副词短语(所以)
therefore, thus, consequently, as a result, hence
eg.
Progress so far has been very good. We are, *therefore*, confident that the work will be completed on time.
The program is very simple and *thus* easy to run.
This material is highly poisonous, *hence* the importance of careful handling.
Some people suffer from stress at work and become ill *as a result*.
The disease attacks the plant, the flower does not open, and *consequently* no seeds are produced.
