Description

Scope

This recommended practice applies to the use of infrared online inspection system for inspection and detection of the working temperature state of substation power equipment. The composition of the system, application technical conditions, equipment management and inspection, testing recommendations, inspection methods, monitoring period, judgment methods, diagnosis basis, and determination of equipment defect types.

Purpose

The purpose of this recommended practice is to provide recommendations for operation and maintenance personnel on the use of an infrared online inspection system to better conduct inspection work. The recommended practice supports comprehensively improving the monitoring efficiency of the working temperature status of substation equipment and the accuracy of fault warnings.

Abstract

New IEEE Standard - Active. The application of online infrared inspection systems for substations is introduced in this recommended practice. The system composition, functional and performance requirements, test methods, and test rules are provided, as well as a comprehensive framework for realizing accurate and efficient infrared online inspection.
