The Erelim are Blood Angels Chaplains who serve as Honour Guards for the High Chaplain, Astorath the Grim, and also defend the Chapter's Reclusiam.

They differ from other Chaplains, as their Skull Helms are smeared black and they wear winged Jump Packs adorned with black feathers. Their Power Armour has been stripped of all insignia and adornment, save for the Blood Angels' Chapter symbol emblazoned on the shoulder. In their overall appearance, the Erelim are considered to be the dark counterparts to the Sanguinary Guard, who stand in the light with Chapter Master Dante, while they stand in the shadows with Astorath.
