The eighth of the 25 compositions compiled in the “Dunhuang Pipa Score” (敦煌琵琶譜; Dūnhuáng Pípá Pǔ) is titled Another Song in Slow Tempo (又慢曲子; Yòu Màn-qǔ-zi) and the second piece bearing the same title after the fourth. Nevertheless, the two Another Songs in Slow Tempo differ significantly in their melodies, rhythm and style. As before, the inclusion of “Another” (又; yòu) in the title likely suggests the consecutive performance of this music with those that preceded it.
This video features a version of Another Song in Slow Tempo that was originally deciphered and interpreted by the musicologist Professor Chen Ying-shi (陳應時教授) from his extensive studies of the Dunhuang Pipa Score. Period percussion has been added for accompaniment.
《敦煌琵琶譜》所載第八曲為《又慢曲子》，與第四曲同名，但兩者的旋律、節拍及風格上皆相異，而曲題中的『又』字可能表示與之前的樂曲作順序連奏。
本片所錄《又慢曲子》為音樂學者陳應時教授以其『掣拍說』對《敦煌琵琶譜》作考證後之譯本，綴以杖鼓及鈴鈸作伴奏。
