"The Night" is a 122-minute romantic film co-produced by Italy and France. Directed by Michelangelo Antonioni, it stars Marcello Mastroianni, Jeanne Moreau, Monica Vitti, among others, and was released in Italy on January 24, 1961.
This film is the second part of Michelangelo Antonioni's "Modern Love Trilogy," telling the story of writer Giovanni Pontano and his wife visiting a dying friend at the hospital, having an affair in the ward, attending a new book launch, wandering aimlessly on the streets, witnessing a fight, and attending a banquet. When the new day dawns, the wife suddenly declares that she no longer loves him.
