In 1950s America, black entrepreneurs Bernard (played by Anthony Mackie) and Joe (played by Samuel L. Jackson), who aspired to change their fates from a young age, faced constant obstacles due to racial segregation. Forced to improvise, they hired a white man, Matt (played by Nicholas Hoult), to act as the 'boss' of their business empire, while Bernard and Joe posed as a janitor and driver, pulling the strings behind the scenes. Just as their empire grew, they faced the risk of exposure.
