In the Bengal region of India, a poor village housed a family led by Harry, who fancied himself a learned man. Though working as an accountant for a landlord, he dreamed of becoming a poet. He showed no exceptional talent in this pursuit and even became so poor that he mortgaged his ancestors' orchard as loan collateral. His gentle and virtuous wife endured hardships without complaint, while their children found joy in stealing fruits from the orchard.
