This is not an ordinary documentary, but a personal memoir of ancient Rome written through the unique artistic eyes of Italian film master Federico Fellini. The film breaks traditional narrative techniques, alternating between realistic and surreal scenes, interspersed with a large amount of hallucinations and memories, fully expressing Federico Fellini's love for Rome, and allowing the audience to see another hidden side of the city. Actor Peter Gonzales plays young Federico Fellini, while Federico Fellini portrays himself in the film, where one can see the profound influence of the circus on Fellini's works. It also allows us to glimpse some of the basic characteristics of Fellini's film style, which fans of his work cannot miss.
